– As part of Library Day in the Life, I posted short entries about my librarian-days from July 25-29. –
Today was a very international day! I started the day communicating with colleagues in Helsinki and The Hague about arrangements for an upcoming international conference. After that, I went to the office where I met and finalized details with two interns we had from Jamaica and Spain. They spent the entire month of July at the library learning about services for multicultural populations, homebound, reader’s advisory, and services at our community libraries. Additionally, they were very interested in cataloguing, technical services and ESOL programs. So, we looked at their month here and at all the things they were able to accomplish. It was fantastic! In the afternoon, we had a farewell gathering where everyone shared really nice stories. Emails were exchanged, pictures taken and good memories made.
